Employee Highlight – Jason Beasley   Evan Fleishacker Warehousing Insights | Material Handling Systems

In this edition of our employee spotlight, we talk to Jason Beasley, Sales Support Associate in our Tulsa office. Jason shares how communication is key in his daily work, why he ditched sticky notes and his favorite horror movie.

What does a typical day look like for you as a Sales Support Associate?

A typical day is busy—lots of emailing, phone calls, and coordinating orders. My role is to ensure the sales team has everything they need to keep orders moving forward. I handle customer fulfillment and also make sure that accounting has all the necessary information to process requisitions so we can get paid. Essentially, I’m making sure all the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed.

What excites you most about your role, and what keeps you motivated?

What excites me the most is knowing that I’m helping people. It can feel like a lot sometimes, but I enjoy being someone who can assist others. Even on the busiest days, the fact that I’ve helped someone accomplish their tasks gives me a sense of fulfillment.

What skills have been essential for your success in this role, and how have you developed them over time?

Listening is probably the most essential skill, and I’ll admit, I wasn’t great at it when I started. Over time, I’ve developed this skill by asking questions, having people reiterate important points, and taking notes. I also use the systems we have at Cisco-Eagle to ensure I can follow up on what needs to be done. Continuous improvement is key!

How do you collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction?

It’s all about communicating details. To keep the customer happy, they need to receive exactly what they ordered, and for that to happen, I need to understand what the salesperson is selling. By double-checking the information I get from the sales team and going back to what the customer initially requested, I can ensure we’re delivering the right product every time.

Your role in inside sales can involve juggling many tasks at once. How do you stay organized and prioritize?

I set a lot of reminders. I used to rely on sticky notes, but that wasn’t sustainable, so now I use a checklist system. Every day, I look at what the top priorities are—what orders need to go out immediately and which tasks from the previous day still need attention. I follow the “first in, first out” rule from my days working in kitchens. This approach ensures that the most urgent matters are handled first, and no one who should have been taken care of earlier gets delayed.

As a member of the EAC committee, what have been some of your favorite activities for celebrating employee ownership?

Oh, man, I love the Halloween costume competition! It’s a lot of fun seeing everyone get involved, and I enjoy coming up with crazy costumes—within reason, of course. Outside of that, I really enjoy the employee appreciation events, especially the tailgating or cooking events. I think food brings people together, and it’s awesome that we work for a company that values that sense of community.

What does employee ownership mean to you, and how does it influence the culture at Cisco-Eagle?

Before I joined the EAC, I didn’t fully understand what employee ownership meant. Now I see it as giving us more influence. We’re not just cogs in the machine; we have a say in the company’s direction. We also have a stake in its success, which makes it feel more like a career than just a job.

You’re a horror movie fan. Do you have a favorite film or villain, and what draws you to the genre?

Absolutely! My favorite film is Scream. Wes Craven is a genius, and Scream is both a homage and a parody of traditional horror films. It defines the “rules” of the genre while also playing with them, and I love how influential it’s been in pop culture. As for my favorite villain, that would have to be Ghostface. He’s a franchise-long villain, and the whole concept of the character is both scary and clever. It’s all very tongue-in-cheek, which is why it’s so enjoyable.

Who is Cisco-Eagle?

That’s a great question. I used to wonder if Cisco-Eagle was a person, but now I’d say it’s Bill and Warren—and yet, it’s also more than that. Cisco-Eagle is a material handling company that’s very good at what it does, but at its core, it’s the people that make it special. We’ve got some really cool folks here.
